What to do
In the event of a collision, complete the following actions:
- Call Safety if the incident occurred during business hours (8am-8pm CST Monday-Friday) at 628-270-1844
- After business hours reporting, call Operations at 415-480-2336
It is imperative that all accidents, fatalities, injuries and property damage are immediately reported to CloudTrucks.
At the scene

Call 911. Police involvement is required when another party is involved.
- Protect yourself and the vehicle from further damage and set out warning devices (cones/triangles) and take pictures once completed.
- If vehicle position creates additional risk, move the vehicle to a safe location

Secure the contact information for all parties involved
- Driver’s license picture
- Names
- Addresses
- Phone numbers of witnesses at the scene
- Pictures of insurance documentation

If you can, take pictures of the accident scene, the position of vehicles, and physical damage to vehicles or property.
- Please take pictures from all angles to include one that captures the entire scene of the accident, as well as pictures of other parties' plates, DOT/MC#’s of any other trucks/trailers involved
- Refrain from discussing the incident with the media. The incident should only be discussed with the proper authorities.
- Do not admit fault, even if you believe that your actions may have contributed to the incident
- Request a copy of any accident report taken by the authorities. Take a picture of the handwritten report if possible and request instructions on how to secure a hard copy or electronic copy
- CloudTrucks DOT authority does not allow us to haul Hazardous Materials, but in the event of a significant fuel spill or a hazardous material spill by involved parties, Call XL Environmental Services at 800-432-2481
Drug & alcohol testing
Refer to FMCSR 382.303 “Post Accident Testing”.
Contact Safety at the number listed above to find out if you need post-accident testing and to find a nearby drug and alcohol testing vendor. If after hours, please contact CloudTrucks Operations Department to request a testing location. Important Deadlines for Drug and Alcohol testing:
- Alcohol testing is required within 2 hours following the accident
