CloudTrucks makes it easy to manage your deductions from our app (click here for a short how-to video).
Here are a couple more tips based on the questions drivers ask us most often:
How can I keep my deduction % low?
Our biggest tip for keeping your deduction % low is to stay on top of your payments. Make sure you pay off what you owe on time and in-full or catch up by using Pay Now if you have to.
If you feel you can't pay off everything you owe, consider changing the deductions you have. For example, you can get a trailer or plates through a different provider.
Why did my deduction % change?
Remember, this % is based on how much you owe CloudTrucks for any deductions and your average weekly revenue. We recalculate this % each week to ensure you're able to pay off what you owe for the week without falling behind.
If you have recently driven less or added a new deduction, you may see the % increase. If you've recently driven more or paid off a deduction, you may see the % decrease.

How come the dollar amount collected for each deduction varies from one statement to another?
This happens because we use an overall deduction % to collect the entire amount you owe for deductions for the week, rather than collecting for each deduction individually.
When you itemize the amount we collect for each deduction, it may seem like we're collecting more for a deduction on a higher paying load and less on a lower paying load. However, we only collect the same total deduction % from every completed load each week until what you owe CloudTrucks is $0.
Will CloudTrucks collect more than what I owe in a week?
No. CloudTrucks will never collect more than what you owe for deductions in a week. Once the amount you owe hits $0, we will no longer collect for deductions, even if you complete more loads.
I'm dealing with a personal emergency and have to take down time. How can I avoid building up additional charges?
We completely understand when these things happen. If you are leasing a trailer through CloudTrucks, please reach out to the Trailer Ops team ASAP and they will help you pause your trailer payments:
- Phone: +1 415-649-5956
- Email: Trailers@cloudtrucks.com
If you have any other deductions through CloudTrucks, such as plates, please notify your Business Consultant ASAP and they will help you out.
What happens to my deductions if I opt into pickup pay for a load?
When you opt into pickup pay, CloudTrucks will pay you for picking up the load, prior to delivery. This could be up to 50% of the line haul revenue (minus our 2% fee). Then, we will apply your weekly deduction % to the remaining 50% of the line haul revenue.
For jobs where you have already been paid for pickup, your take home pay might seem lower because the bulk of your deductions was paid off from the second 50% of the line haul revenue. But remember, you were already paid for up to half of the load. To learn more about pickup pay, click here.
