Onboarding
Are there any application fees?
No, there are no fees to get the CT Fuel card.
Who can get the fuel card?
Any team within the CloudTrucks Virtual Carrier fleet can get a fuel card.
How does the application work?
As a member of our fleet, you can obtain the CT Fuel Card by following the simple steps outlined below.
- Sign up with our financial partner, Stripe, and the underlying bank– Cross River Bank
- Confirm your bank account
- Accept documentation (Terms of Service, Cardholder Agreement, etc)
- Confirm card shipping and billing address(es)
How do I sign up?
When we are ready to onboard you, you will see a banner pop up at the bottom of your app with a button to apply. Additionally, you will see an "apply" button on the CT Fuel account in the Cash tab of your mobile app.
How are the limits determined?
Limits are based on your team’s weekly earnings and are subject to re-evaluation. This is to ensure your team can reliably pay off the fuel card. If your team does not have an earning history since you are new to CT, your credit limit will start at $500. If your team has a history of credit disputes or payment plans with CT, your account could be flagged resulting in a credit limit of $50.
When will I know my team’s limit?
As soon as the sign up is complete (all documents signed), you will instantly see your approved credit limit.
How soon can I use my card?
You can use your virtual card after onboarding as long as you have active or booked loads. Your physical card will be shipped to the specified address, which can take 3-7 business days. After receiving your physical card, enter the last four digits of your card number and expiration date in the CT mobile app to unlock the card.
Your virtual card will be automatically unlocked, you just need to add it to your mobile wallet. If you need assistance with using the virtual card, please refer to this article.
What happens with Pickup Pay?
When you activate your card, the maximum amount of Pickup Pay you can request for a load will decrease. This is because your on-trip expenses should be covered by CT Fuel!
For most teams, Pickup Pay will be limited to 15% of the job amount. For folks on the Road to Independence program, Pickup Pay will not be available.
Limits
How are limits calculated?
Limits are determined based on your revenue. The more you drive and earn, the higher your credit limit. We take average revenue earned over your last eight weeks and map that to the table below to determine your limit
Credit limit | Average weekly revenue |
$1,00 | No minimum |
$1,50 | $3,000.00-$3,999.99 |
$2,000 | $4000+ |
Can my credit limit change?
Yes. Every eight weeks, we will calculate your team’s average weekly revenue. This may result in a credit limit increase or decrease for your team. You will be notified within five business days of a credit limit change via email.
Can I request an increase to my limit?
Credit limits are assessed based on your team's needs (how much you are driving) as well as your ability to pay (how much you are making). as these variables change over time, your limit will be automatically adjusted. If you believe that your limit is insufficient or too great for your needs, you may request a credit limit increase by reaching out to fuelcardsupport@cloudtrucks.com. Please note, that unless your team has increased your weekly earnings and/or mileage, you will not receive a credit limit increase. Manual credit limit reviews cannot be requested more than once per quarter. Credit limits increases requested more frequently will be rejected.
Discounts
What discounts are available with CT Fuel?
- 3% cash back at Love's
- 3% cash back at RaceTrac
- Cost-plus discounts at Roady's
Will the discount program change over time?
Yes- we are actively negotiating more and better discounts on behalf of our fleet. The more gallons that are filled up on CT Fuel, the better discounts we can get with retailers!
Usage
Where can I use CT Fuel?
CT Fuel is for on trip expenses. As such, it can be used at Service stations, Automated Fuel dispensers, digital fuel platforms, for paying tolls, and for truck parking.
Can I use CT Fuel to buy items inside a service station?
No, only items that are directly related to your work on a job should be purchased, such as fuel.
Does using the CT Fuel automatically record my fuel purchases for IFTA reporting?
Yes, if you use CT Fuel, your fuel purchases are automatically recorded for IFTA reporting.
Payment
How will payment work?
Payment will work as a waterfall method. First, we will collect from jobs during the week. If there are any unpaid transactions, we will initiate autopay from your CT Cash balance and your bank account (if necessary). As you complete jobs, we will collect up to 50% of your job payout as payment towards your CT Fuel balance. If there is any remaining balance when the Statement Period ends, we will withdraw the remaining balance owed on your Charge Card from your CT Cash Balance Account. If there is still a remaining balance owed on your Charge Card, we will withdraw the remaining balance due from your linked bank account via ACH.
How will job payments work?
At the end of every job, we will either pay off your outstanding balance or up to 50% of the gross job amount, whichever is less. This will ensure you always have take-home pay even if you have a high fuel bill. The remaining balance will be paid off in future jobs or at the on the statement due date.
Payment example (full collection)
- Team books a $1,000 load
- Team fills up totaling $300
- Load delivers
- $300 is deducted from the $1,000 payout
- Current balance = $0
Payment example (partial collection)
- Team books a $1,000 load
- Team fills up totaling $600
- Load delivers
- $500 is deducted from the $1,000 payout
- The 50% maximum would be $500 for this $1,000 load even though $600 was purchased
- Current balance = $100
This balance will be collected from future jobs or at the end of the Statement Period via an automated payment.
Can I pay off my card at any time?
Yes, you can initiate a payment from your CT cash balance or your bank account at any time.
What happens if my funds are “pending”?
If you pay from your CT Cash balance, your fuel card will be immediately “settled” and will not show as “pending” in the application. However, if you transfer funds from your bank account, the funds could take up to three business days to settle. During this time, the payment will show as “pending”. CloudTrucks will not collect from job payouts while the payment is pending unless the current balance exceeds the pending payment.

What is the Statement Period?
The Statement Period will be weekly. Statement Periods start on Monday at 12:00am UTC* and end on Sunday at 11:59pm UTC.

Fees
Are there card issuing fees?
No.
Are there sign up fees?
No.
Are there any monthly/ annual fees?
No.
Are there any late fees?
Yes.
How does the late fee work?
If there is any remaining balance after the grace period ends, you will be charged a 10% fee on the remaining amount.
For example, if the original statement is $200, but only $150 was paid, the overdue balance is $50. The late fee would be 10% of that $50, so a $5 late fee.
Our automated payment processes are set up to reduce the likelihood of fees.
Is there a grace period before late fees are charged?
Yes, there is a 4 day (Thursday-Sunday) grace period where you can still pay your balance after the due date without incurring late fees. In other words, as long as the balance is paid before the next statement is generated, you will not be charged a late fee.
How can I avoid paying late fees?
The best way to avoid late fees is to keep funds in your CT Cash balance. To be extra safe, you should keep at least the amount of your fuel credit limit as cash in your CT Cash balance. This will ensure that any transitions that were not covered by job payouts will be fully paid off by the CT cash auto-payment. For example, if your credit limit is $1,000, you should ensure there is always $1,000 in your CT cash balance. This will ensure that you will not pay any late fees since your CT cash balance will always cover any unpaid transactions from the week.
Can I dispute a late fee?
In certain scenarios, such as medical emergencies, expensive breakdowns, or military service we may grant waivers for late fees. Disputes can be filed by emailing fuelcardsupport@cloudtrucks.com. Late fee waivers are granted at CloudTrucks' sole discretion. Late fee waivers cannot be waived after they are paid.
