This guide explains which freight can and cannot be hauled under CloudTrucks authority.
These requirements are based on:
- CloudTrucks Policy and Insurance Coverage Restrictions
- FMCSA regulations
Failure to follow these rules may result in load cancellation, driver discipline, or removal from the platform.
Loads That Are NOT Allowed
CloudTrucks drivers may not haul the following freight types.
Hazardous Materials
CloudTrucks does not operate under HazMat authority.
Drivers cannot haul:
- Placarded hazardous materials
- Any load requiring a HazMat endorsement
- Explosives or regulated chemical shipments
However, some non-placardable shipments under 1,000 lbs may be permitted if confirmed as non-hazmat by the broker AND approved by CloudTrucks.
Oversized or Overweight Freight
Drivers may NOT haul loads requiring oversize permits, including:
- Height over 13'6"
- Width over 8'6"
- Weight exceeding 80,000 lbs gross
- Freight exceeding trailer deck length
CloudTrucks will not purchase or approve permits for Oversized or Overweight.
Tanker or Liquid Bulk Freight
CloudTrucks does not allow:
- Tanker loads
- Liquid bulk cargo
- ISO tanks filled with liquids or gases
Even non-hazardous liquids in bulk tanks may trigger tanker regulations and are not permitted.
Reefer Power-Only Loads
Reefer power-only loads are never allowed.
This includes:
- Broker-owned reefer trailers
- Shipper-owned reefer trailers
- Driver-owned reefer trailers
This restriction exists because insurance requires verified maintenance records for reefer equipment which CloudTrucks cannot maintain for trailers outside of our ownership/authority.
Other Restricted Freight
Drivers may not haul:
- Live animals
- Fireworks
- Ammunition
- Garbage or waste loads without approval
- Stacked trailer chassis
- Vehicle chassis with mounted vehicles
