Virtual Carrier customers who are not part of the Road to Independence (lease to own) program can request Pickup Pay for up to 50% of the line haul revenue of a current in-progress job to help cover expenses on the road, like fuel or lodging.
Virtual Carrier drivers in the Road to Independence (lease to own) program can request an advance for up to 30% of a job in progress. The advance amount and a 2% processing fee will be taken out of your job payment. Road to Independence drivers are eligible to use their Pickup Pay on fuel. Maintenance funds have been established either with your leasing partner or CloudTrucks to cover maintenance costs. See Financial Support: A Guide for CloudTrucks Drivers for more details.
If you are not currently running a load, but need to discuss funding your truck costs, refer to this article: Financial Support: A Guide for CloudTrucks Drivers

The money will stay in their CT cash balance, and they will pay the fee for the total amount requested and approved.
What jobs are eligible for Pickup Pay?
The following requirements must be met in order to request Pickup Pay on a job:
1. The job must be in progress
2. ELD tracking must be turned on for the vehicle assigned to the job
3. Proof of pick up must be submitted
Can a team request Pickup Pay on multiple jobs?
Yes, as long as it is within the Pickup Pay limit.
What is the Pickup Pay limit?
There's a few important things to know about Pickup Pay limits.
1. A team can always multiple instances of Pickup Pay for one job, as long as the total is < 50% of the line haul revenue
2. A team can also be granted Pickup Pay across multiple jobs, as long as all outstanding jobs with Pickup Pay are < 60% of your team's total GMV from the last 60 days
Why is the app displaying a limit that is less than 50% of the job?
The limit may be less than 50% of the job if the team already has already received Pickup Pay on other jobs. In that case, the team wide limit of over 60% of the team's GMV from the last 60 days will apply.
Why didn't I get the full amount I requested?
Pickup Pay is provided at the discretion of CloudTrucks. There are a few reasons why the CloudTrucks Operations team might limit or deny your request:
- Large amount requested at pickup: We can continue to grant more funds as you make progress on the load.
- Past driver history: We prioritize granting funds to drivers who have demonstrated responsibility and adherence to our safety protocols.
- Outstanding debts: We consider a driver’s existing commitments and deductions to prevent adding any financial strain.
- Long and/or multi-stop loads: Pickup Pay may be limited or denied until later in the load to ensure the load can be completed successfully.
- Tenure at CloudTrucks: We will be more stringent on large amounts for new drivers because we don’t have as much history to assess risks.
What qualifies as "outstanding Pickup Pay"?
Outstanding Pickup Pay includes any pending requests, or Pickup Pay amounts from cancelled jobs
When is the limit calculated?
The limit is calculated right at the point that the request is submitted. This means that if a team completes a job right before requesting Pickup Pay, the job will be taken into account when calculating your team's GMV from the last 60 days.
What is the Pickup Pay fee?
2% of the Pickup Pay amount
How do we collect back Pickup Pay?
Pickup Pay is automatically collected back at the point of job payout. The fee is also collected at this moment.
What if the original job was canceled?
The granted amount of Pickup Pay will roll onto the next job that is finished and paid out. On the job statement, you will see that Pickup Pay was from a previous job.
What if the rollover Pickup Pay amount is greater than the new job amount?
We will pay out a negative job, and deduct from your CT Cash Balance. This means that your CT Cash Balance could go negative.
